rules, a genuine strategy tip, and what each game actually exercises. Games
scale with your level, so they keep getting harder as you improve.

Color Vials
Logic · Trains: Sequential planning & backtracking
How to play: Each tube holds up to four coloured layers. Tap one tube then another to pour, but a layer only moves onto empty space or onto its own colour. Sort every colour into its own tube to win.
Strategy: Keep at least one tube completely empty as a workspace for as long as you can — once every tube is partly filled you usually have no legal moves left. Before pouring, check what is underneath the layer you are about to move.
What it exercises: Water-sort puzzles reward thinking several moves ahead and noticing when a move is irreversible. There is no time limit, so it rewards patience over speed.

Math Sprint
Math · Trains: Mental arithmetic under time pressure
How to play: Solve as many arithmetic problems as you can in 45 seconds by picking the right answer from four choices. Correct answers build a combo that increases each question's value; a wrong answer resets the combo and costs three seconds.
Strategy: Accuracy beats speed here, because a wrong answer costs both your combo and three seconds off the clock. As you level up the questions move from addition and subtraction into multiplication and division, and the wrong answers get closer to the right one — so read all four before tapping.
What it exercises: Regular short bursts of mental arithmetic build fluency with number facts. The multiple-choice format means you can often eliminate answers by estimating rather than calculating exactly.

Memory Match
Memory · Trains: Short-term visual memory
How to play: All the cards start face down. Flip two at a time to find matching pairs. Matched pairs stay up; a mismatch flips back after a moment. Clear the whole board in as few moves as possible.
Strategy: Work a consistent path across the grid rather than tapping at random — it makes the cards you have already seen far easier to remember. When you flip a new card, deliberately note its position before flipping the second.
What it exercises: Pair matching exercises the visuospatial sketchpad, the part of working memory that holds "what was where". Higher levels add more pairs and give you less time to look at a mismatch.

Echo Pads
Memory · Trains: Sequence memory (auditory & visual)
How to play: Watch the pads light up in order, then repeat the sequence by tapping them. Each round adds one more step. One wrong pad ends the run.
Strategy: Say the colours to yourself, or hum the tones — the pads each play a distinct note, and chunking the sequence into groups of three or four is far more reliable than trying to hold a single long list. Do not rush your input; there is no timer on your turn.
What it exercises: This is a classic serial-recall task. Most people plateau between seven and nine steps, which is roughly the limit of unaided working memory — chunking is what pushes past it.

Word Scramble
Language · Trains: Vocabulary & anagram solving
How to play: The letters of a word are shuffled, and a hint tells you what the word means. Tap or type the letters in the right order to unscramble it.
Strategy: Look for common letter pairs first — "th", "ch", "ing", "tion" — and use the hint to guess the word's length and category before puzzling over individual letters. Vowel placement usually cracks the rest.
What it exercises: Anagram solving strengthens the link between spelling patterns and word meaning, and is a genuinely useful spelling exercise for younger players.

Number Merge
Logic · Trains: Spatial planning & arithmetic patterns
How to play: Swipe to slide every tile in one direction. Tiles with the same number merge into their double. Keep merging to build the biggest number you can — there is no upper cap, so the board only ends when you run out of moves.
Strategy: Pick one corner and keep your largest tile there permanently, never swiping in the direction that would move it. Build your numbers in descending order along one edge. Most losses come from swiping "up" (or whichever direction breaks your corner) in a panic.
What it exercises: The doubling sequence makes powers of two intuitive, and the game is a good lesson in committing to a strategy rather than reacting move to move.

Mole Mash
Reflex · Trains: Reaction speed & response inhibition
How to play: Critters pop out of nine holes for a moment. Tap the hamsters and the gold stars for points, and leave the bombs alone — hitting one costs you five points. You have 30 seconds.
Strategy: Rest your gaze on the centre of the grid rather than chasing each critter, so you catch movement anywhere with peripheral vision. Gold stars are worth five, so prioritise them. As you level up more of the spawns are bombs and the targets stay up for less time.
What it exercises: The bombs are what make this more than a speed test: stopping an action you have already begun is response inhibition, a genuinely trainable executive function.

Lights Out
Logic · Trains: Logical deduction & parity
How to play: Tapping a light toggles it and its direct neighbours. Turn every light off to win. Fewer taps is a better score.
Strategy: Tapping the same cell twice returns the board to where it started, so order does not matter — only which cells you tap an odd number of times. The classic method is "light chasing": work top row to bottom, tapping the cell directly below each light that is still on, then fix whatever remains on the last row.
What it exercises: This is linear algebra over two elements hiding inside a puzzle. You do not need the maths to solve it, but the insight that taps commute and cancel is the whole game.

Snake Snack
Reflex · Trains: Spatial planning & sustained attention
How to play: Steer with the arrow keys, WASD, the on-screen pad or a swipe. Eat apples to grow. Hitting a wall or your own tail ends the run, and every apple makes you faster.
Strategy: Do not chase apples in a straight line — plan a route that keeps your tail from boxing you in, and hug the edges to keep the middle open. Once you are long, follow your own tail in a loop and only break off when an apple is safely reachable.
What it exercises: Snake gets harder in a way that is purely about planning horizon: the faster you go, the further ahead you must already have decided. Higher player levels start faster and accelerate harder.

Slide Puzzle
Logic · Trains: Spatial reasoning & goal decomposition
How to play: Slide the numbered tiles into the single empty space until they read in order. Fewer moves is a better score.
Strategy: Solve it in layers — finish the top row completely, then the next, and never disturb a finished row. The last two rows are the hard part and usually need you to cycle three tiles around the gap rather than move them directly.
What it exercises: The 15-puzzle is the classic lesson in breaking a big goal into sub-goals you protect once achieved. Notably, exactly half of all random arrangements are unsolvable — this game only ever deals you solvable ones.

Reaction Dash
Reflex · Trains: Simple reaction time
How to play: Wait for the pad to turn green, then tap as fast as you can. Five rounds, and your average is your score. Tapping before it turns green does not count and you retry that round.
Strategy: Rest your finger lightly on the pad and watch for the colour change rather than trying to anticipate the timing — the delay is deliberately random between about one and three seconds, so guessing costs you the round. Staying relaxed genuinely helps.
What it exercises: Adult simple reaction time is typically 200–300 ms; under 300 ms here earns the Lightning badge. A good chunk of that is unavoidable nerve conduction and screen latency, so improvement plateaus fast.

Word Traveler
Language · Trains: Foreign vocabulary recognition
How to play: A word appears in Spanish, French or German. Pick its English meaning from the options.
Strategy: Look for cognates — words that resemble English ones, because they often share a Latin root. Be careful with false friends, though, where a familiar-looking word means something else entirely.
What it exercises: Recognition (seeing a word and knowing it) comes before recall, and it is the right first step in vocabulary learning. Three languages appear, so it is a taster rather than a course.

Flash Memory
Memory · Trains: Visuospatial working memory
How to play: Some tiles in the grid flash briefly. Once they fade, tap exactly those tiles from memory. The pattern grows as you progress.
Strategy: Do not memorise each tile separately — look for a shape. Three tiles in a row, an L, a diagonal: remembering "an L in the corner" is far easier than three coordinates. Take the moment you are given to look at the whole grid rather than scanning tile by tile.
What it exercises: This is essentially the Corsi block-tapping task used in cognitive testing. Recoding positions into shapes is the same chunking trick that helps with sequence memory.

Odd One Out
Logic · Trains: Visual discrimination & search
How to play: A grid fills with the same emoji, except one. Find and tap the different one before the timer runs out. The grid gets bigger and the difference gets subtler.
Strategy: Scan in a fixed pattern — row by row, or quarter by quarter — instead of letting your eyes wander, which is how you end up rechecking the same area. Unfocusing slightly can make an odd one "pop" out of the pattern.
What it exercises: Visual search is faster when the target differs on one obvious feature and much slower when it takes a conjunction of features. This game deliberately moves from the first kind to the second.

Number Hunt
Math · Trains: Visual search & number sequencing
How to play: Numbers 1 to 20 are scattered across the screen. Tap them in ascending order as fast as you can. A faster time is a better score.
Strategy: While tapping one number, let your eyes already hunt for the next two — the tapping is never the slow part, the searching is. The numbers do not move, so a rough mental map of the board pays off quickly.
What it exercises: This is a variant of the Trail Making Test used in neuropsychology. It measures visual scanning and processing speed rather than anything you can cram for.

Dot Count
Math · Trains: Numerosity estimation (subitising)
How to play: A cluster of dots flashes on screen, then disappears. Enter how many there were.
Strategy: Up to about four dots you simply see the number without counting — beyond that, break the cluster into small groups and add them, since there is never time to count one by one. Estimating a range then picking the middle beats guessing wildly.
What it exercises: Instantly perceiving small quantities is called subitising, and the sharp limit around four is a well-documented feature of human perception. This game lives right at that boundary.

Color Clash
Reflex · Trains: Cognitive inhibition (Stroop effect)
How to play: A colour word appears, printed in a colour. Say whether the word's meaning matches the ink it is printed in, and answer before the timer runs out.
Strategy: Reading is automatic and that is exactly what trips you up, so try softening your focus on the word and attending to the ink first. Building a rhythm of steady, slightly slower answers scores better than fast guessing, because a wrong answer costs time.
What it exercises: The Stroop effect is one of the most reliable findings in psychology: mismatched word and colour take measurably longer to process. Feeling the hesitation is the point of the game.

Higher or Lower
Math · Trains: Probabilistic reasoning
How to play: A card is shown. Guess whether the next one is higher or lower, and build a streak. A wrong guess ends the run.
Strategy: This is genuinely a maths question, not a hunch: with a low card showing, "higher" is the better bet, and with a high card, "lower". Around the middle the odds approach even, and that is where streaks end — knowing when to accept a coin flip is the skill.
What it exercises: A good introduction to expected value and to the fact that the right decision and a good outcome are different things. You can play correctly and still lose the round.

Missing Letter
Language · Trains: Spelling & phonological awareness
How to play: A word appears with one letter blanked out, plus an emoji clue to its meaning. Pick the letter that completes it.
Strategy: Sound the word out loud — the missing letter is usually obvious by ear even when it is not by eye. Use the emoji to confirm which word you are dealing with before choosing.
What it exercises: Connecting sounds to letters is the core mechanic of learning to spell, and the emoji clue keeps meaning attached to the word rather than treating it as a letter puzzle.

Emoji Riddle
Language · Trains: Lateral thinking & word play
How to play: Two emojis combine to suggest a single compound word. Work out the word and pick it from the options.
Strategy: Say what each emoji is out loud in plain words, then try joining them — the answer is usually the literal compound rather than something clever. If it will not come, work backwards from the answer options.
What it exercises: Compound words are how a lot of English vocabulary is built, and reading them as their parts is a useful decoding habit for unfamiliar words.

Number Recall
Memory · Trains: Digit span (verbal working memory)
How to play: A number appears briefly, then vanishes. Type it back from memory. Each round the number gets one digit longer.
Strategy: Group the digits into chunks of two or three and rehearse them as a rhythm, the way you would a phone number — "4 7 2 9 1 6" is much easier as "47 29 16". Repeating them under your breath while typing genuinely helps.
What it exercises: Digit span is a standard measure of verbal working memory, and typical adult capacity is about seven digits. Chunking is the one technique that reliably beats that limit.

Maze Dash
Logic · Trains: Route planning & spatial navigation
How to play: Guide the mouse through a freshly generated maze to reach the cheese, using the arrow keys, WASD or swipes.
Strategy: Trace the route with your eyes from the cheese backwards to the mouse before moving — dead ends are much easier to spot in reverse. If you are lost, following the wall on one side consistently will eventually get you out of any simple maze.
What it exercises: Every maze is procedurally generated, so it cannot be memorised. Solving from the goal backwards is a broadly useful problem-solving habit.

Star Catcher
Reflex · Trains: Hand-eye coordination & tracking
How to play: Slide the basket left and right to catch falling stars and avoid the bombs. You have three lives and 45 seconds.
Strategy: Track the falling items rather than watching your basket, and position yourself under the next star early instead of reacting late. When a star and a bomb fall together, giving up the star is usually the right call — a life costs more than a point.
What it exercises: Continuous tracking of moving objects while planning your own movement is a different skill from the tap-reaction games, and it is the one most like real sport.
